Introduction|Kimiidera Temple
Three buildings in the temple are listed as Important Cultural Property. The largest wooden statue in Japan, the “Thousand Armed Kannon”, is placed in the Buddha hall. You can enjoy a view of Wakayama City and even Shikoku from the third-floor observation corridor of the Buddha hall. Visitors can also enter the Daikomyo Hall behind the main hall and worship the Important Cultural Property Buddha statue carved more than 1,000 years ago. It is known for its early-blooming cherry blossoms. The beauty of the blossoms in spring attracts many tourists each year, and the location has been selected as one of the “Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan.”
