This spot is renowned as the “10 Billion Dollar Night View” and is listed as one of the “New Three Major Night Views of Japan.”
Take the cable car to Sarakurayama, one of Kitakyushu’s most famous night view destinations. It takes about 10 minutes to reach the observation deck at the 622-meter-high summit. It’s a must-visit attraction when traveling to Kitakyushu.

April to October: 10:00 AM – 10:00 PM (Last uphill ride at 9:20 PM)
November to March: 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Last uphill ride at 7:20 PM)
●Closed: Every Tuesday (except public holidays),
as well as from February 16 to February 27, 2026 (12 days).

There is a slope from JR Yahata Station to the cable car base station. If you plan to walk, we recommend wearing comfortable shoes such as sneakers and such.
A free shuttle bus is available from JR Yahata Station (approximately 10 minutes). If the bus is full, please wait for the next one.
