About Ikedaya Yasubei Shoten Ikedaya Yasubei Shoten was established in 1936 (Showa 11) when the first-generation owner, Ikeda Minoru, opened a wholesale store for Chinese and Japanese medicinal herbs at the current location. Shortly after World War II, the store began manufacturing and selling ""Hangontan,"" a popular traditional remedy from the Edo period.
