Kouri Island is a circular coral reef island and is said to be the origin of the Ryukyu people. You can reach it by crossing the Kouri Ohashi Bridge, the second-largest bridge in Okinawa Prefecture, from Yagaji Island. Kouri Island is also called the “Island of Love”, named after a Japanese version of the Adam and Eve legend and the similarity between the Japanese pronunciation of Kouri Island and “Island of Love.”
