Three buildings in the temple are listed as Important Cultural Property. The largest wooden statue in Japan, the "Thousand Armed Kannon", is placed in the Buddha hall. You can enjoy a view of Wakayama City and even Shikoku from the third-floor observation corridor of the Buddha hall. Visitors can also enter the Daikomyo Hall behind the main hall and worship the Important Cultural Property Buddha statue carved more than 1,000 years ago. It is known for its early-blooming cherry blossoms. The beauty of the blossoms in spring attracts many tourists each year, and the location has been selected as one of the “Top 100 Cherry Blossom Spots in Japan.”

As a symbol of Wakayama City, Wakayama Castle is one of Japan’s “Three Great Hirayama Castles,” alongside Himeji Castle and Matsuyama Castle. This iconic structure, built by combining flatland and hill terrain, features a three-story white-walled main keep that offers panoramic views of Wakayama City from the top. In spring, around 600 cherry trees bloom within the castle grounds, creating a breathtaking scene. Wakayama Castle is also listed among the “Top 100 Castles in Japan,” making it a popular destination that blends rich history with natural beauty.

The observation tower is located about 100 meters from the shore near Seamore Hotel, standing at a height of 18 meters with a water depth of 8 meters. It's open year-round. You can enjoy a 360-degree view through 12 round windows, observing about 30 different fish species such as sea bream and flounder leisurely swimming in the water. It's a delightful experience to take a stroll in the sea with this retro atmosphere!
